DISRUPTED
An online exhibition in collaboration with WO Foundation exploring aspects of disruption and interference in our everyday life. From social and political unrest, technological innovation, to psychological trauma, we have experienced a disturbance in the way we experience life. Disruptions come when we less expect them and often have a way of awakening new ways of looking at the world. WO Foundation artists are invited to interpret the idea of disruption in their own context and submit to this exhibition artworks that explore this concept.
Disrupted has been curated by Sergio Gomez and is in collaboration with Art Placer and ArtNxtLevel
Exhibition dates: March 14 to April 30, 2022
WO IN MOTION
In the continual effort of WO to actively change the current paradigm of gender inequality in the art world, it has partnered with CAGE Gallery in Barcelona for its third exhibition.
WO in Motion brings together the members of the Barcelona branch of their community and is inspired by the work generated by WO of action based activism. Action and movement are the key elements for this exhibition, and every artist participating showcases their own interpretation of this theme. Each member has submitted their proposal of their vision of a body or bodies in action/movement. WO in Motion showcases works in sculpture, painting, drawing, Illustration, and photography.
This collaboration is geared towards fostering local gallery relationships and putting our communal efforts to contribute to the statistical change of women representation in the art world. In this way, CAGE Gallery is an important ally in fostering the growth and visibility of underrepresented communities, especially those that impact the local society directly.
Exhibition dates: July 8, 2021 - August 13, 202
Indómitas II
After the success of our first exhibition, we are elated to announce our second edition of Indómitas at the Convent de Sant Agusti in Barcelona, Spain.
Indómitas II showcases the work of twelve international women with their creative vision and interpretation of what it is to be untamed.
Indómitas delves into societal standards, psychological conditionings, the oneiric, sexuality and body positivity. Many of the pieces presented are rebellious and reactionary and look to challenge our own ideals of the roles women have in contemporary culture. In many ways it sets a new paradigm for what is considered aesthetically acceptable for a woman to create. With this show we hope to widen your parameters on the power and diversity of our voices.
Exhibition dates: April 26 - May 21 2021
Indómitas
Indómitas is our first collective exhibition as WO, our art collective which now amasses more than 60 women from all over the world. We have communally worked together from inception to final product and hope that by doing so we inspire the women in our group to take these exhibitions to their countries and their communities and give them the power to help others out. Today we are presenting 14 international women with their creative vision and interpretation of what it is to be untamed.
